Forest Assessment and GIS

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

All forests are critical to our environment and an understanding of a change over time is necessary for developing effective policy and developing efficient management plans. Through recent history, GIS has been the platform for managing forests, both public and private. This session will detail the use of National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) imagery and shortwave infrared (SWIR) for canopy assessment. This excellent session will focus on efforts by the Georgia Forest Commission and the University of North Georgia Institute for Environmental and Spatial Analysis.

  • The LandsatFACT Project: Change Detection Methods for Forest Cover
